No Final Exams For First Semester

Hello Delcastle families,

In this continuing pandemic, we recognize that many students and staff have been affected by health issues, absences, and other forces outside of the school day. With the current COVID surge and temporary transition to virtual learning, this is even more evident. For this reason, the New Castle County Vocational Technical School District has decided to eliminate final exams for the first semester for all students. In lieu of a final exam, students' final course grades in first semester courses will be determined by averaging the first and second marking period grades.

In an effort to support students, we will keep our current schedule with half days on January 13th and 14th. During those half days, students will have the opportunity to complete or retake missed assignments and assessments to improve their grades and/or can participate in hands-on work in their career program areas.

If you have any questions, please contact your students' teachers using Schoology or email, or you can call the school counselor at (302) 995-8080.

You may review your students' grades and assignments in Home Access Center (HAC). For assistance with HAC access, contact (302) 995-8080.

Sincerely,
Dr. C. Hayes - Principal - Delcastle Technical High School
