Parent and Community Engagement

The mission of the PACE Office is to:

• Foster meaningful family engagement that supports student success

• Develop and sustain community partnerships that expand access to real-world learning and service

• Create inclusive spaces where families, staff, and community members work together to empower students to thrive

PACE builds strong connections with local organizations to bring real-world impact into our school. Through these partnerships, students gain access to mentorship, service learning, and career exploration opportunities.

Some of our key partners include:

• St. Francis Hospital

• Food Bank of Delaware

• Local non-profits, businesses, and service providers across New Castle County

These partnerships support everything from health education and food drives to community-wide events and student-led initiatives.

Powered by PACE and the DFTA

One of the highlights of the PACE program is the 9th Grade Community Service Seminar, a unique opportunity offered to all freshmen as part of the Delcastle Freshmen Transition Academy (DFTA).

Throughout the school year, students rotate through this seminar where they:

• Learn about the importance of volunteerism and civic responsibility

• Explore real-world service opportunities with St. Francis Hospital and the Food Bank of Delaware

• Reflect on the impact they can have within their local communities

• Participate in after-school volunteer opportunities to go above and beyond

This experience not only supports Delcastle’s mission to serve and empower—it helps students develop leadership skills, empathy, and pride in giving back.

The PACE Office also serves as a liaison for families, helping ensure open communication and support between home and school. This includes:

• Coordinating school tours and welcome events

• Supporting admissions and recruitment efforts

• Promoting family engagement workshops and back-to-school events

• Sharing school updates and celebrations on social media and community platforms

PACE believes families are our partners in education—and we're here to make that partnership strong.
