February is Black History Month, and Delcastle Technical High School is proud to honor the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black leaders, innovators, artists, and changemakers. Throughout the month, our Black Student Union is leading meaningful opportunities for students and staff to learn, reflect, and celebrate across campus.
Month-Long & Featured Events
Black History Walking Museum
All month long, students and staff are invited to explore the Black History Walking Museum located on the second-floor hallway and outside the auditorium, highlighting influential figures and pivotal moments in Black history.
Photo Booth with African Queen
On Wednesday, February 11, students can stop by the Senior Lobby during all lunches to participate in a cultural photo experience celebrating African heritage.
Rep Your Favorite HBCU Fridays
Every Friday in February, students and staff are encouraged to wear gear representing their favorite Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in celebration of Black excellence in higher education.
Black History Month Spirit Week
February 23–27, 2026
• Monday (2/23): Motherland Monday – Dashikis or Black/Green/Red attire, headwraps
• Tuesday (2/24): Dressed to the Nine – Wear your Sunday best
• Wednesday (2/25): Western Wednesday – Western attire with line dancing during lunch
• Thursday (2/26): Retro Hip-Hop Day – 80s, 90s, and 2000s throwbacks
• Friday (2/27): Black Out – Wear all black
Black History Heritage Showcase
On Friday, February 20, Delcastle will host a Black History Heritage Showcase, celebrating culture, history, and creativity through student-led performances and presentations.
Black History Month at Delcastle is more than a celebration—it’s an opportunity to uplift voices, deepen understanding, and strengthen our school community. We thank our Black Student Union for their leadership and vision in bringing this important month to life.
