Delcastle Technical High School Student Council leaders recently traveled to Neshaminy High School to attend the Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC) Region J Conference — a full-day leadership experience focused on collaboration, student voice, and purposeful leadership.
Surrounded by passionate student leaders from across the region, Delcastle’s representatives embraced the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
For Brigette Castaneda ('27), the biggest takeaway was intentional leadership.
“One big thing we learned was how important it is to actually lead with a purpose and not just do events just to do them,” Brigette shared. “A lot of the schools talked about setting clear goals and making sure everything connects back to your mission. It really made us think about being more intentional with what we plan, getting more students involved, and making sure our events actually represent our school and our community.”
That theme of purpose resonated throughout the day.
Anasesha Mathan ('27) reflected on the personal growth she experienced.
“Honestly, it helped me grow a lot. Being around so many other student leaders pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me realize there’s always more to learn. It also gave me more confidence to share my ideas and speak up. The conference reminded me that leadership isn’t just about the title — it’s about working with others, communicating, and making a real difference. I came back more motivated and ready to do more for our school.”
For Janelle Sanchez ('26), who serves in a leadership role within Student Council, the experience strengthened both her confidence and her sense of responsibility.
“Attending the PASC conference impacted me personally as a leader in ways I did not expect. In all honesty, I was a bit nervous going in, but being surrounded by so many passionate student leaders instantly pushed me outside my comfort zone. In the best way possible, I felt challenged to open up and connect with as many people as I could.”
Janelle continued:
“I gained valuable understanding into the different leadership styles, ideas, and initiatives other schools are implementing. I left the conference with a stronger sense of purpose, and I am excited to bring what I learned back to Delcastle!”
Delcastle Student Council Advisor Mrs. Lisa Bainbridge-Scully emphasized the importance of exposing students to leadership experiences beyond their own campus.
“Conferences like PASC allow our students to see leadership from a broader perspective,” said Mrs. Bainbridge-Scully. “They return with fresh ideas, stronger confidence, and a deeper understanding that leadership is about service, collaboration, and impact.”
Student Activities Coordinator Anthony Tiberi echoed that sentiment.
“What makes me most proud is watching our students grow in real time,” Tiberi said. “They are not just attending conferences — they are reflecting, challenging themselves, and bringing back ideas that will strengthen Delcastle. That is what authentic student leadership looks like.”
As Delcastle continues to empower student voice and leadership development, opportunities like the PASC Region J Conference reinforce the school’s commitment to preparing students not just for graduation — but for impact.
The Cougar leaders returned energized and ready to lead with purpose — and Cougar Nation will feel that impact in the months ahead.
