Weekly Update - February 22

Hello Delcastle Families:

It’s a great day to be a cougar at Delcastle. Fifty years of building the state and global Workforce.

There are no scheduled days off during the week of February 22nd through February 26th.


The rescheduled Sophomore Class Picture Day will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd. All Hybrid 10th Grade Students will have their pictures taken. All Remote Students, in any grade, can attend between 9 and 11 am. Remote students must enter the building at the flagpole and move directly to the Auditorium.

Spring Sports season begins March 1st! If you are interested in playing a spring sport go to our sports website at https://www.cougarssports.com/

Reminder for Driver Education students. Testing scheduled for Friday, February 19th has been rescheduled for Friday, February 26th.

The Delcastle Boys' Volleyball Team online store is now open. Delcastle-branded shirts, hoodies, or jackets are available. The online store closes on March 7th. The Delcastle Boys' volleyball team is preparing for its first-ever season. Find the link in Schoology or with this email.

Delcastle invites you to information sessions on the COVID-19 vaccine. The first session will be sponsored by the Delaware NAACP on Tuesday, February 23rd at 6:00p. The second session will be sponsored by Children and Families First of Delaware on Wednesday, March 3rd at 7:00p. Both events will be held via ZOOM. See the flyers attached to this week’s email.

New Castle County is committed to supporting students pursuing undergraduate college degrees with scholarships to help defray their educational costs. This program will offer awards in increments of $1,000 to $3,000. All New Castle County residents currently enrolled or who will attend an accredited College or University in the Fall of 2021 are eligible. See the flyer attached below. In addition, click on the link for a list of other scholarship opportunities available to our 2021 Graduating Class.



For Senior Families; are you still working on college funding for your soon-to-be high school graduate? Get started or get assistance by joining our FAFSA night, sponsored by Howard High School of Technology on Wednesday, February 24th at 6:30p. Check Schoology or this week’s email for the link to register.
