Good morning, Delcastle families. Today is a Great Day to be a Cougar. The purpose of this message is to inform you about a developing situation regarding bus transportation for Delcastle and Hodgson.
We have received notice that the drivers from one of our contracted bus transportation companies, First Student, are threatening to go on strike against the company. We have been working with First Student to the best of our ability, but since they are a contractor there is only so much we are able to do. If the drivers do indeed strike against First Student, we will not have buses to transport students to school and we will transition to virtual instruction with all Delcastle students learning from home for the duration of the strike.
We are very hopeful that a resolution is reached between First Student and their drivers before this happens, but we need to be prepared for whatever the outcome is. We will keep you informed as we learn more. Thank you for your time, and I will be in touch again as soon as I can.
