NCC Vo-Tech is pleased to announce that Dr. Justin Comegys has been appointed by the Board of Education as the new Principal of Delcastle Technical High School. Dr. Comegys has served as Assistant Principal at Delcastle since January 2021, but his tenure with the district goes back to 2014 when he was hired as a social studies teacher. After serving as a teacher, instructional specialist, and acting assistant principal in NCCVT, Dr. Comegys spent two years as an assistant principal in the Appoquinimink School District before returning to NCCVT and his current position with Delcastle.
Dr. Comegys earned both his master's and doctorate from Wilmington University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware.
“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as the principal of Delcastle Technical High School, an amazing community school with incredible students, outstanding staff, and supportive families,” said Dr. Comegys. “I look forward to carrying on a long tradition of CTE and academic excellence that sets students up for post-secondary success. As Dr. Hayes would say, ‘Today is a great day to be a cougar!’”
Dr. Hayes agrees. "Today is indeed a Great Day to be a Cougar. I was excited to hear that Dr. Comegys would be the new Delcastle Technical High School Principal. I have first-hand knowledge of his exceptional leadership skills, collaborative strengths, and ability to make a positive impact on students. Delcastle is definitely in great hands. Dr. Comegys, the staff, and I will work together to ensure a smooth transition for the upcoming school year.”
